HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky women's soccer picked up its second straight win on Thursday night as the Norse scored a second half winner to knock off the Bellarmine Knights at Scudamore Field.
NKU's winning goal came off the head of Maria Wiefering, marking her first of the season. Lilly Yordy provided the assist with a beautiful corner kick.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Northern Kentucky allowed just one shot on goal in the match, which was saved by Tristen Cross. Donna Buddy and Megan Gessner also saw time in goal for the Norse.
- The Norse peppered Bellarmine with 11 total shots, including six on net. Maria Wiefering, who scored the winner, provided two shots on goal, while Lilly Yordy provided one shot on target and three total.
- Northern Kentucky dominated in corner kicks, holding an 11-2 advantage over the Knights.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern Kentucky and Bellarmine played a scoreless first half, but the Norse had plenty of chances with six first half corner kicks and four first half shots.
- The Norse struck first with the only goal of the match in the 74th minute, as Lilly Yordy drove in a corner kick that was finished off by Maria Wiefering to give the Norse the lead. NKU ran out the remainder of the clock and picked up a second straight win.
