HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky volleyball opened Horizon League Play on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio as the Norse took on Cleveland State.
NKU battled the Vikings into a fifth set, but fell 3-2 to CSU.

- Northern Kentucky's Joy Banks posted another double-double, her fifth in a row. Banks finished with a season-high 24 kills, leading all players in the match.
- Lucy Cluxton led the Norse with 24 digs, tying her season high. Cluxton has posted 10+ digs in 11 straight matches, with four 20+ dig performances in that time.
- Allison Risley finished with a double-double of her own, posting 12 kills and 12 digs.
- Sydney Bray finished second on the team in kills with 14. Both Bray and Joy Banks hit .350 in the loss.
- Allie Siefke led the Norse in blocks with two.
- Lainey Green and Torie Houston combined for 56 assists in the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cleveland State picked up the win in set one, 25-21.
- Northern Kentucky won both the second and third sets, 25-22 & 25-19.
- NKU fell to the Vikings in the final two frames, 25-19 & 15-12, losing the Horizon League opener 3-2.
