HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Basketball season is right around the corner, and both the men's and women's basketball programs at Northern Kentucky University are excited to make another run at championship glory in the upcoming campaign.

The Horizon League slate begins in early December for both programs, with NKU women's basketball beginning conference play on December 4 at Cleveland State while the men's squad begins league play on December 7 at IU-Indy.

Full conference schedules for all member institutions were announced by the Horizon League on Wednesday.
 

Following the Horizon League opener at IU-Indy, the Norse men's basketball team is set to take on Detroit in the conference home opener on December 18. NKU will also host Purdue Fort Wayne on New Year's Day, Green Bay (January 4), reigning conference champion Oakland (January 11), arch-rival Wright State (January 18) and Milwaukee (January 24) at Truist Arena in the first month of 2025.

Northern Kentucky will spend much of February away from home, but host Cleveland State (February 5), Robert Morris (February 8), and IU-Indy (February 23) before the Norse wrap up the regular season on March 1 vs. Youngstown State.

Head coach Darrin Horn led NKU to a 12-8 mark in the Horizon League last season, advancing to the Horizon League semifinals for the sixth straight season. Horn is just two wins away from reaching 100 for his tenure as NKU's head coach.
 

It's a new era for the Northern Kentucky women's basketball program as Jeff Hans was named the sixth head coach in program history this past April.

After opening the Horizon League schedule at Cleveland State, the Norse host Youngstown State (December 7) and Oakland (December 29) before the calendar turns to 2025. Robert Morris (January 8), IU-Indy (January 11), Milwaukee (January 23), Green Bay (January 25), and Detroit (January 29) come to Trust Arena after the New Year.

In February, NKU is set to host Cleveland State (February 12), Purdue Fort Wayne (February 20), and Wright State (February 22).
