HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky University Athletics saw 121 student-athletes named to the Horizon League Fall Academic Honor Roll as standouts both on the field and in the classroom. The awards were announced by the league office on Thursday.
NKU had the fifth most student-athletes named to the Honor Roll, just two behind Cleveland State who finished fourth.
For the Fall 2024 semester, NKU student-athletes achieved a 3.359 GPA, the 27th straight semester in which the department posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher and the 21st straight semester featuring a department GPA of 3.2 or higher. Going even further, it marked 15 semesters in a row in which Norse student-athletes combined for a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Women's soccer led the way with 18 selections to the Honor Roll, followed by men's soccer (15) and softball (15). Baseball finished with 12 selections, with women's volleyball (10) and women's track and field (10) also finishing with double-digit selections.
In total, 18 of Northern Kentucky's 19 sport offerings finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with women's basketball's 3.696 GPA leading the way. All 11 of NKU's women's programs posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with a combined GPA of 3.487.
On the men's side, men's tennis posted a 3.583 GPA to lead all men's programs. Baseball finished with a 3.37 GPA, while men's basketball posted a program record 3.36 semester GPA. NKU's men's programs finished with a 3.224 combined GPA.
At the conclusion of the Fall 2024 semester, 44 student-athletes finished with a 4.0 GPA (13.62%), with 156 above a 3.5 (48.30%), 214 above a 3.25 (66.25%), and 262 above a 3.0 (81.11%).
261 (80.8%) of NKU's student-athletes have a GPA above 3.0.
