Norse show fight in second half but fall short against Green Bay

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky Norse Women's Basketball continued its three-game homestand with a matchup against league powerhouse Green Bay. The Phoenix played a strong first half, leading by nine at the half, but the Norse fought back in the second half. Late turnovers from the Norse proved costly though, as Green Bay left Truist Arena with an eight-point victory.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Macey Blevins led all scorers with 16 points, going 6-14 from the field and grabbing four rebounds. 
- Halle Idowu tallied a double-double, going for 12 points and 11 rebounds. It marked Idowu's second double-double of the season. 
- Abby Wolterman went for 11 points and nine rebounds, going 5-7 from the field. 
- Mya Meredith grabbed eight rebounds, blocked two shots, and tallied a steal. Her defensive effort helped to limit Green Bay's Natalie McNeal to just seven points on 2-16 shooting from the field. 

NORSE NOTES
- Both teams got off to a very slow start offensively, combining to go 7-31 in the period as the two squads were tied at 11 after ten minutes. Green Bay pulled away at the end of the second, taking a nine-point lead before the half. 
- NKU stormed back in the third, cutting the lead to as small as three, but couldn't capitalize on opportunities to tie it up, missing two threes before the end of the third. 
- After a strong start to the fourth from the Phoenix, NKU cut the Phoenix lead back down to five with just five minutes to go. A four-minute scoreless stretch from the Norse doomed their chance of a comeback, as Green Bay grabbed a 64-56 victory.
