HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Women's Basketball finished off a three-game homestand with a Wednesday night matchup with fourth-place Detroit Mercy. A blistering start from the Norse saw them jump out to a 29-6 first-quarter lead, and NKU didn't look back as they never trailed in a 30-point dominant victory.

- A stellar performance from
Halle Idowu headlined the blowout victory, as she went 7-9 from the field, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. It marked her second-straight double-double and third of the season.

Abby Wolterman continued her great stretch in conference play with a 13-point, eight-rebound performance, again doing most of her damage in the first half. Wolterman went 5-6 from the field, leading all Norse starters in FG%.

Mya Meredith bounced back after a rough offensive effort against Green Bay with 12 points in 24 minutes. She also grabbed six boards and recorded a pair of steals.

Kalissa Lacy provided an offensive spark off the bench with nine points and a pair of threes.
NORSE NOTES
- The 30-point victory was the largest for the Norse since an 83-51 trouncing of Robert Morris on January 17, 2024. Even with the blowout win the Norse still recorded 28 turnovers, their largest in a game all season. NKU made up for it by going 30-50 from the field and 9-20 from three-point land, with seven different Norse players sinking a three-pointer.
- The Norse also dominated the rebound battle, particularly on the defensive end, winning it 43-24 with 39 defensive boards. After a rough start to the season rebounding the ball, NKU has picked it up in recent games and is outrebounding opponents by an average of 4.6 in January.
