YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Northern Kentucky men's basketball took a trip North to Youngstown for a big Horizon League matchup on Wednesday, as the Norse battled the Penguins of YSU on the road.
NKU was unable to overcome a big first half deficit in the loss, falling by 11 to the Penguins.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Trey Robinson tied for the game-high in scoring, posting 19 points with six rebounds in the loss. Robinson knocked down a pair of threes and had two steals.
- LJ Wells finished with 13 points, knocking down a season-high two threes.
- Sam Vinson scored 10 points, grabbed three boards and dished out five assists. Vinson had three steals on the defensive end.
- NKU struggled to defend the three, as YSU shot 13-28 from downtown.
- YSU out rebounded NKU 38-28.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- NKU fell down by as many as 20 in the first half, but cut the deficit to 15 headed into the break after a three by Trey Robinson.
- The Norse cut into the deficit and hung around, but were unable to get any closer than eight in the loss.
UP NEXT
- NKU plays the back half of a men's/women's doubleheader on Saturday, as NKU takes on Oakland, the defending Horizon League champion.
