Women’s Basketball pulls away late for second-straight victory

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky Women's Basketball team looked to grab their second straight win as they took on Robert Morris at home. A big night from Macey Blevins and a fourth-quarter push helped lead the Norse to a 14-point victory over the Colonials.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Macey Blevins had an all-around great game, leading the Norse with 16 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Her nine rebounds were a career-high, topping eight that she recorded in multiple games during the 2023-24 season.
- Mya Meredith finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high three steals. It marks Meredith's eighth effort with multiple steals in a game. 
- Kamora Morgan scored 12 points while dishing out three assists and grabbing two rebounds. Morgan, averaging 10.3 points per game, reached double figures in scoring for the sixth time this year. 
- NKU shot 18-22 from the free throw line, good for 81.2% on the day. They went a perfect nine-of-nine in the fourth quarter, helping seal the game. 
 
NORSE NOTES
- Both teams got off to a slow offensive start, shooting under 38% in the first quarter, with NKU holding a one-point advantage after the first period. Robert Morris picked it up offensively in the second, scoring 22 points on 53% shooting from the field. A three-pointer from Kalissa Lacy reduced the RMU lead to two entering the halftime break. 
- The third quarter was back-and-forth, as the game stayed within one possession for the entire period. Anna Hamilton came in and provided a spark in the period, scoring five points, including a big and-one. A three from Noelle Hubert was answered by an RMU three as both teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 49. 
- The fourth was all NKU, as they won the period 23-9. An 8-0 run in the middle of the period saw all the momentum shift towards the Norse. Big threes from Jaci Jones and Macey Blevins sealed a second-straight Norse win.

Northern Kentucky will host IU Indy on Saturday at 3:30 PM, the first leg of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team hosting Oakland following the game.
