Volleyball earns 20th win of season at IU Indy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After clinching the Horizon League regular season title last Saturday at Oakland, Northern Kentucky University Norse volleyball headed up I-74 to Indianapolis on Friday to take on IU Indy in the first of two matchups. The Norse took the match in four sets, extending their win streak to twelve and earning their 20th win of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– The Norse had a poor hitting percentage of .166 in the match, but held the Jaguars to a .117 mark. NKU took the first two sets, including an extended second set (27-25), but hit just -.036 in the third and dropped it, 25-17. NKU bounced back with a 25-19 victory in set four to clinch the victory. 
– NKU outside hitter Allison Risley led the Norse in kills with 16 on 50 total attacks, posting just a pair of attack errors. She also had four total blocks, two aces, and five digs 
Sydney Bray was the only other Norse to post double-digit kills, going for ten. She also had 14 digs and two blocks. 
Lucy Cluxton led the Norse in digs with 15, also posting an ace and four assists. 
Abby Pickard beat out IU Indy's Grace Purichia in a battle of the league's top two setters, posting a match-high 41 assists. The freshman also racked up 13 digs and a pair of blocks. 
Kendall Hopewell went for nine kills and four blocks, while Ivey Stocks had seven kills and four blocks. Ava Hoying went for six kills, two aces, and six digs. 
– NKU's 20th win marked the first time they've reached that mark since the 2021 season, where they went 20-8 and finished as Horizon League runner-ups. 
– 2025 marks the first time the Norse have reached 16 conference wins since Carlos Chia's squad did it in 2008, going 16-2 in the GLVC. It marks the most conference wins by the program since joining NCAA Division I.
