INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer junior
Steven Boaghe Braniste was named to the Horizon League's All-Academic team on Tuesday, after a stellar season on the pitch and in the classroom.
"Steven has had a tremendous season on the field for us this fall and is the example of what a student-athlete is supposed to be," said Norse head coach
Tom Poitras. "He is a leader with a consistent approach to his on-field and in the classroom performance. Steven is well deserving of this honor and a great representative of NKU Soccer and our university."
Braniste, a junior from Getafe, Spain, has had a remarkable record in the classroom with the Norse. A finance major, Braniste has posted a 3.90 GPA and has been named to the dean's list and Horizon League Honor Roll on multiple occasions. This season, Braniste has scored three goals, which ranks second among all Norse players. Braniste's All-Academic selection marks the first for NKU men's soccer since the 2023 season.
Northern Kentucky wraps up the 2025 regular season on Tuesday against Purdue Fort Wayne.
