Women’s Basketball falls to Green Bay in league opener

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University Norse women's basketball took on defending champion Green Bay to open Horizon League play on Thursday. A slow start offensively put the Norse in a large deficit, but they showed some fight late, dropping the home game by 10.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- NKU shot just 5-30 in the first half, but were able to knock down a large percentage of their free throws, going 13-14 through two quarters. NKU shot just 29.7% in the game and 23.3% from three overall.
- The Norse forced 19 Phoenix turnovers, but committed 17 of their own.
- NKU grabbed 19 offensive rebounds in the game, as six different players grabbed multiple offensive boards. Despite their large amount of offensive rebounds, NKU had just ten second-chance points.  
- Mya Meredith, Maddie Moody, and Kylee Hunt all led the Norse with 11 points. Meredith shot 5-9 from the field and had three steals and two blocks. Moody grabbed seven rebounds and had a pair of steals, while Hunt went a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
