CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball kicked off the Governors Classic taking on #22 Florida Atlantic and Austin Peay. 

The Norse dropped both games in five innings, falling 11-2 in game one, and 8-0 in game two. 

THE BASICS (GAME ONE)
FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 2, #22 Florida Atlantic– 11
LOCATION: Cathi Maynard Park - Clarksville, Tenn.
RECORDS: NKU 6-5 (0-0 HL), FAU 17-3 (0-0 AAC)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Olivia Pastin finished 1-3 with an RBI double. 
- Stella Wulker went 1-2 with a double and scored a run.
- Marlee Loudermilk, Jena Rhoads, and Emma Ginn all recorded singles. 

NORSE NOTES
- After falling down 2-0, Loudermilk hit an RBI single to left field that scored Wulker. 
- The Owls scored one in the third, six in the fourth, and two in the fifth to increase their lead to ten. 
- Pastin hit an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth to attempt to spark a two-out rally, but Ginn's lineout ended things for the Norse.

FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 0, Austin Peay – 8
LOCATION: Cathi Maynard Park - Clarksville, Tenn.
RECORDS: NKU 6-6 (0-0 HL), MSU 13-3 (0-0 ASUN)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Campbell Beatty went 2-3 with a double. 
- Stella Wulker went 1-2 with a double off the wall.
- Jena Rhoads and Marley Gearld both hit singles. 
 
NORSE NOTES
- Stella Wulker nearly put the Norse on the board in the second, hitting a double that bounced off the top of the outfield wall. 
- Brooklyn Ballis replaced Alicia Flores in the fourth after allowing three home runs. A fielder's choice, triple, and sacrifice fly gave the Governors six runs on three hits in the fourth inning. 
- NKU nearly sparked another late rally, as Rhoads singled with two outs before Beatty followed that up with a double to put runners on second and third. A groundout by Pastin ended things in five innings.
