HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University Norse Women's Basketball capped off its regular season on Saturday afternoon with a thrilling three-point victory over Oakland. The Norse snapped a four-game losing streak with the win and built some momentum as they now look to make a run in the Barbasol Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship.
Abby Wolterman notched her first double-double as a Norse, putting up 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Macey Blevins put up 15 points, six coming at the free throw line, and
Mya Meredith also finished in double figures with 11 points.

Macey Blevins led the Norse with 15 points, going 6-7 on free throws. She added three rebounds and two assists.

Abby Wolterman's double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds was a big help in the Norse's victory, as eight of her rebounds came on offense. NKU had 11 second-chance points in the game. Wolterman also tallied two steals and a block.

Mya Meredith scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. It marked her 14th game in double figures out of her last 17 games.

Halle Idowu put up eight points, five rebounds, a block, and a steal.

Jaci Jones had six points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block.
NORSE NOTES
- Northern Kentucky limited the Oakland offense to just 20 first-half points, as the Golden Grizzlies shot just 8-30 in the first half. NKU had a balanced offensive attack in the first half, scoring 18 points in the paint and knocking down three threes. The Norse took an 11-point lead into halftime.
- NKU was able to keep the Golden Grizzlies at bay for the third, never dropping their lead to more than eight in the period.
Halle Idowu had six points in the quarter.
- With a twelve-point lead and just under five minutes to go, the Norse looked to hold on for a victory, but an incredible 12-0 run over two minutes by Oakland tied things at 56. The Norse were able to get a stop and knock down some free throws, but Oakland had possession down two with 36 seconds to go. As the Golden Grizzlies' Macy Smith drove to the rim for a layup, she bowled over
Jaci Jones right near the rim for an incredible, game-saving charge.
Anna Hamilton hit the final free throws to seal the deal and send the Norse into the five seed.
