OXFORD, Ohio — Northern Kentucky baseball was just a strike away from a series victory on Sunday, but a rally from Miami (OH) proved too much to overcome as the Norse fell 6-5 in the series finale, dropping the series two games to one.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - PITCHING
- Aaron Boster got the start for NKU, and pitched 3.2 innings. Boster allowed three runs on five hits and four walks, striking out just two.
- Out of the bullpen, Jake Johnson and Shawn Parnell combined for 4.1 innings of one run ball. Parnell recorded four strikeouts.
- Logan Wilson allowed a hit and a walk and the winning runs, neither earned, taking the loss.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - BATTING
- In the batter's box, six Norse posted a hit with multi-hit efforts from Gabe Miranda and Jake Paulick.
- Miranda finished 3-5 with a home run and two RBI.
- Paulick drove in three runs, finishing 2-4 with a walk and a two-run double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jake Paulick's two run double put the Norse on top early in the first.
- Leading 2-1 in the third, Gabe Miranda hit a solo shot on a 3-0 count to put the lead back to two runs.
- Miami tied the game in the fourth, but Gabe Miranda's fifth inning RBI groundout and Jake Paulick's seventh inning RBI single put the Norse ahead 5-3.
- Miami plated a run in the seventh and two runs on an error in the ninth to walk off winners.
