INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following a stellar senior season, Northern Kentucky University Norse Women's Tennis star Ashlee Fisk was named the Horizon League's Women's Tennis Player of the Year, the league announced on Thursday.

"Being the top player in the Horizon League is a big deal," said NKU Head Coach Brian Nester. "The competition is very strong, and Ashlee navigated through the difficult matches at an extremely high level. It's nice to see the Horizon coaches recognize her special season."
Fisk arrived at Northern Kentucky in 2021, competing the last three seasons in black & gold after transferring from Indiana Wesleyan. In her three seasons, Fisk has amassed 24 singles wins for the Norse and helped lead NKU to a quarterfinal win over Milwaukee in last year's Horizon League Championship.
In 2025, Fisk has been dominant on the court, amassing a 10-6 overall singles record and a 5-1 record in conference play, with all matches coming in the #1 slot. She helped lead NKU to the fourth seed in the Horizon League Women's Tennis Championships and is currently riding a four-match win streak heading into the tournament.
Fisk becomes the first Norse to win the award since Margita Sunjic won Player of the Year in both 2017 & 2018.
This weekend, NKU Women's Tennis heads to the Horizon League Tennis Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Norse take on IU Indy in an 11 AM quarterfinal matchup on Friday.
