NKU Women’s Tennis falls in semifinal clash

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – After defeating IU Indy in a Friday quarterfinal, Northern Kentucky University Women's Tennis resumed play in the Horizon League Tennis Championships on Saturday with a semifinal clash against Cleveland State. 

The Norse took the doubles point as Ashlee Fisk and Ana Isabela Serrano kicked it off by winning their match in the #3 slot, 6-2. Mariajose Hernandez and Darya Gneidina won 6-4 in the #1 slot, clinching the doubles point for NKU. 

In singles play, Gneidina, Serrano, and Cardoso all quickly fell in two sets. Ashlee Fisk was the last Norse to fall, as her matchup with Oihane Vicario in the #1 slot ended in a 6-4, 6-4 loss.
