Women's Soccer Earns First Win of 2025 Season in Dominant Fashion

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Women's Soccer hosted their home opener on Thursday afternoon, taking on Austin Peay in their second game of the season. The Norse quickly jumped on the Governors to take a two-nothing lead inside 12 minutes, both goals courtesy of Megan Molner. They doubled their lead in the second half, as Lilly Yordy and Emilie Doersching put in goals to put the Norse lead at four, where it stayed for the remainder of the match.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Megan Molner opened the scoring in the eleventh minute off a set piece whipped in from Lilly Yordy. Molner put in a power header into the near corner of the net to put the Norse up one-nil.



– Just over a minute later, Molner struck again as she was put on from a deep through ball by Lilly Yordy, as the pair connected for their second goal & assist in just as many minutes. 



Lilly Yordy opened the second half scoring on a penalty kick, making it three-nothing Norse. 
Emilie Doersching netted an incredible goal in the 68th minute, scoring from the corner of the box as the Norse lead ballooned to four. 



– Northern Kentucky dominated every aspect of the match, winning the shot battle 22-13 (8-4), and the corner battle 7-4.
