NKU Women’s Soccer scores six, blanks Mount St. Joseph

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Coming off a massive home opener win over Austin Peay on Thursday, Northern Kentucky University Norse Women's Soccer put together a similar effort against Mount St. Joseph on Sunday night. The Norse put six goals past the Lions, its most in a regular season match since October 7, 2021.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Kylie Anderson put the Norse up inside two minutes, heading in a corner kick from Lilly Yordy. Ten minutes later, she headed in another corner from Yordy to make it two-nil. NKU went into the halftime break up by a pair, not even allowing a single Lion shot attempt. 
– Northern Kentucky wasted no time in the second half, scoring three goals before the 60-minute mark. First, Riley Evans knocked one in from outside the box after the ball came to her off a deflection, making it 3-0. Megan Molner then scored her fourth goal of the season, courtesy of Yordy and Alyssa Carnes, while Erykah Cornett put in her first goal of the season to make it 5-0. 
– Late in the second half, freshman Gabi Signorino scored her first career goal, set up by Shannon Crogan, as the Norse took a 6-0 lead that held until the final whistle. 
– NKU won the shot battle 28-0 (13-0), and the corner battle 13-0. 

NEXT UP
Northern Kentucky travels to Louisville on August 28 to take on Bellarmine at 7 PM. Then, the Norse are back home the following Sunday, facing off against Morehead State at 1 PM.
