MASON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's tennis competed in its first event of the fall season this weekend, hosting the James O'Connell Memorial Tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. Over three days of competition at the tournament, student-athletes from nine different schools (NKU, Dayton, Furman, IU Indy, Butler, Ball State, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech, and Xavier) played in 168 total matches between singles and doubles competition.
Six current Norse student-athletes competed in the event, collecting eight total wins in 32 total matches.
Joao Pimenta picked up three singles victories, while
Emilio Bravo picked up a pair of singles wins and advanced to the semifinal of his singles flight. In doubles competition, Pimenta and
Hector Salvador Civera earned a pair of doubles wins, while Bravo and
Jackson Poulos picked up a doubles win.
