INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's volleyball outside hitter Sydney Bray earned the first weekly honor of her NKU career, as she was tabbed Horizon League Volleyball Player of the Week after a great performance at the Indiana Invitational over the weekend. 

"Syd had an outstanding weekend in all aspects of her game," said NKU head coach Liz Hart. "She stepped in wherever the team needed her and performed at a high level."

Bray totaled 39 kills, 32 digs, 11 assists, nine total blocks, and five aces in 12 sets in Bloomington. The Norse went 1-2 at the tournament, defeating Western Michigan in the opening match. The junior posted a hitting percentage of .255 on the week, and hit a season-high .353 in three sets against Indiana. 

In the win against Western Michigan on Thursday, Bray posted a double-double of 15 kills and 14 digs. She followed that up with another double-double on Friday against SEMO, going for 16 kills and 13 digs. 

NKU Women's Volleyball heads to Eastern Kentucky this weekend, taking on UTRGV, Akron, and EKU on both Friday and Saturday.
