Northern Kentucky takes down Cleveland State on the road

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following a pair of wins to open the Horizon League season, Northern Kentucky University Norse Volleyball looked to stay hot on Friday night in Cleveland, taking on Cleveland State. The Norse took home their fifth-straight victory, defeating the Vikings in four sets.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– Northern Kentucky out-hit the Vikings .231-.196 in the match, including hitting .355 in the second set. NKU was outperformed in the majority of statistical categories, though, as the Vikings had more points, kills, and blocks. NKU had 13 aces to Cleveland State's seven, and posted 71 digs to the Vikings' 64. 
– Ava Hoying led the Norse with 21 points, recording 15 kills on a .283 hitting percentage, with a career-high five aces, with two blocks and four digs. Her 21 points marked a season-high and the second-most in her career. 
– Sydney Bray double-doubled with a 15-kill, 15-dig night, also recording three aces and a block on the night. Bray hit .542 on the night on 24 attempts. Her hitting percentage of .542 marked a new career high in matches with 10+ attempts. 
– Ivey Stocks went for seven kills and four total blocks, hitting .385. 
– Abby Pickard double-doubled for a team-leading seventh time this season, going for 42 assists and 15 digs with an ace and two blocks. 
– Daisy Cluxton led the Norse in digs with 19 , and also had five assists and an ace.

– The Norse wrap up the weekend in Rochester, Michigan, taking on Oakland at 4 PM on Saturday.
