MASON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's tennis battled with nearby Xavier on Saturday afternoon at Lindner Family Tennis Center. The Norse looked to bounce back from a pair of losses at Kentucky from the week prior.
The Norse started strong in doubles play, as NKU's #1 pair, Mateus Ranciaro and
Joao Pimenta, took down their opponents 6-3, but Arnau Puig and Hector Salvador took a loss in the #3 slot to even up doubles play.
Jackson Poulos and
Emilio Bravo delivered in the clutch to seal a Norse doubles point, winning 7-6 (9-7).
In singles play, the Norse only took one point, as
Emilio Bravo took down his opponent in the #1 slot, 6-3, 6-2. Every other Norse dropped their match in two sets, except for Poulos, who lost on the tiebreak. The Musketeers came out with a 5-2 overall victory.
