EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's tennis faced off with Southern Indiana on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Screaming Eagles a day after NKU's home win over St. Bonaventure. The Norse fell in a tight match, 4-3.
NKU started off hot with the doubles point, despite Hector Salvador & Arnau Puig dropping the first set in the #3 hole.
Jackson Poulos and
Emilio Bravo won their set 6-3 in the #2 slot, before #35 Joao Pimaenta and
Mateus Vidaller Ranciaro took the final set to secure the doubles point for the Norse, 6-4.
In singles play, things looked good for the Norse as they took a 3-0 lead with singles victories from
Emilio Bravo (#1, 6-1, 6-3) and Hector Salvador (#4, 6-2, 6-2). Unfortunately for the Norse, it all fell apart as NKU dropped the next four singles points to lose the match 4-3.
