NKU Men’s Hoops adds Eric Acker

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's basketball added its second signee in the spring of 2026, as transfer guard Eric Acker signed with the Norse on Friday. Acker, a 6'2" guard from East New York, NY, has played three seasons of college ball, most recently at La Salle.

"We targeted Eric immediately when he went into the portal," said Norse head coach Darrin Horn. "Eric is a dynamic guard who brings great competitive energy that we believe will not only fit great in our system, but will have a major impact on both ends. We are confident that with the freedom he will have in our offense, he will experience great growth as a scorer and playmaker for others. He was a New York City champion in high school and brings us an element of toughness that has been so essential to our success."

Acker starred as a Freshman at Long Island, where he earned NEC All-Freshman honors after a season in which he started 21 of 26 contests, averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game and playing 33.5 minutes per contest. Acker set multiple career highs during his freshman campaign, including scoring a career-high 28 in a victory over Le Moyne, recording an 18-point, 11-assist double-double that marked his most assists in a game at the collegiate level, and grabbing a career-best 10 rebounds in a game in his freshman season as well. Acker then transferred to La Salle, where he's played the past two seasons, making 44 appearances and 11 starts, averaging 5.6 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.5 rebounds per game. Over his career, the New York native has shot 39.8% from the field and 30.9% from three, including a career-best 36.4% from deep in the 2025-26 campaign.

Prior to his time in college, Acker played at Eagle Academy for Young Men II in Brooklyn, NY, where he was selected to third-team All-State honors in 2023. Acker eclipsed 1,000 career points during his time at Eagle, led his league in assists, and led his squad to their first borough and city championships in school history.
