NKU Volleyball Falls to Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Northern Kentucky University Norse volleyball wrapped up play in the Steve Baumrind Invitational on Saturday, taking on the hosts, College of Charleston. After winning both matches on Friday against Duquesne and Notre Dame, the Norse looked to end the weekend with a clean sweep, but fell in four sets to the Cougars.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– The Norse hit above .200 for the second-straight match, hitting .234 against the Cougars, but allowed a .291 hitting percentage from Charleston. NKU hit .458 in their victorious second set, and even hit .406 in a fourth-set loss. 
– Northern Kentucky recorded more kills (52-49), assists (51-47), and digs (54-44) than the Cougars. 
– Ivey Stocks recorded a match-high 15 kills on a .545 hitting percentage, also recording two blocks for 16 points on the day. 
– Luci Heid had 13 kills with two digs. 
– Sydney Bray posted ten kills with a block and six digs. 
– Abby Pickard had 45 assists, an ace, three blocks, and eight digs. 
– Zy'Aire Barr had eight kills in three sets. 
– Ashley Sess recorded four kills on seven attempts with no errors, also recording a pair of blocks. 
– Allison Risley had three aces and seven digs on the day. 
– Daisy Cluxton recorded 20 digs with four assists and a pair of aces. 

NEXT UP
– Northern Kentucky has one more weekend of non-conference action coming up, taking on Miami University in Oxford on Friday, September 18 before hosting the RedHawks on Saturday, September 19.
