INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer took on IU Indy on Saturday, as NKU looked for its first win of the 2026 campaign. The Norse made a statement in the first half with five goals, including three inside the first 20 minutes, leading to a dominant 5-1 victory over the Jaguars. It marked Northern Kentucky head coach
Sean Teepen's first win as head coach, and three points for the Norse as they jumped up a pair of spots in the Horizon League table.

Ibrahim Piracha got the scoring started early, netting a goal in the 14th minute off assists on the left side from
Diego Hoenderkamp and
Bennett Gerak.
– Gerak then made it two-nothing, cutting inside from the right and firing in a rocket off his left foot. It marked Gerak's second goal of the season.
– Piracha then came back less than a minute later for his second of the match, also assisted by Gerak.
– An own goal in the 38th made it 4-0 Norse, before
Michael Luechauer's 44th-minute goal gave Northern Kentucky a 5-0 lead just before the half.
– IU Indy got one back with ten minutes to go, resulting in a 5-1 win for the Norse.
– Despite the score, IU Indy recorded ten more shots than the Norse and won the shot-on-goal battle 11-8. The Jaguars also got 14 corner kicks to NKU's six.
– The five Norse goals in the opening period marked the most ever for NKU in a half in a conference game since joining NCAA Division I in 2012.
