DAYTON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer faced off against Dayton on Tuesday night, taking on the Flyers after the Norse earned their first victory of the season on Saturday at IU Indy. The Norse couldn't carry that momentum into a tough battle with the Flyers, where they stayed competitive but lost three-nil.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– The Flyers took an early lead in the sixth minute, before converting a 23rd minute penalty to take a two-nil lead into the half. A 68th-minute Flyer goal put the game out of reach late.
– NKU stayed competitive with plenty of scoring chances, losing the shot battle 19-13 and 9-3 on goal. The Norse had four corner kicks to Dayton's nine.
– Northern Kentucky had three yellow cards in the match, issued to
Jabari Rasheed,
Diego Hoenderkamp, and
Nate Roberts.
– Carlos Mercé logged 12 shot attempts in the match, the second-most by a player in all of NCAA Division I this year. Three of his attempts landed on goal. It marked the most shot attempts by a Horizon League player since UIC's Younes Dayekh had 12 against Milwaukee in 2021.
