Piracha tabbed #HLMSOC Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After a big day Saturday that saw Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer earn its first victory of the 2026 campaign in dominant fashion, Norse sophomore Ibrahim Piracha earned weekly honors from the Horizon League, as he was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. 

"Ibra was fantastic this weekend and really stepped up in an important conference game," said Norse head coach Sean Teepen, who notched his first win as head coach on Saturday. "I challenged our attackers before the match to be more clinical in the box, and I couldn't have asked for more from him. It's great to see him recognized for the impact he had on a great team performance."

Piracha scored the opener in NKU's big win, hammering in his first goal off his left foot on first touch on a cross from Diego Hoenderkamp, putting NKU ahead in the 14th minute. Piracha then set up a 20th-minute goal from Bennett Gerak, sliding one in to the right side as Gerak made a move and fired a rocket into the top-left corner. Just 50 seconds later, Gerak put a ball into Piracha in the left half-space, where he took one touch before firing off another left-footed rocket to make it 3-0 Norse. Northern Kentucky then cruised on to a 5-1 victory over the Jaguars, with Piracha notching a pair of goals and an assist. 

Up next, the Norse head to Dayton for a Tuesday matchup with the Flyers, with kickoff set for 7 PM.
