WTennis suffers setback at FGCU

FT. MYERS, Fla. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team closed out its week in the Sunshine State with a 7-0 loss to Florida Gulf Coast in Atlantic Sun Conference play on Saturday evening.
 
A pair of Norse showed fight in their singles matches as Rheanna Morehart dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Candela Munoz Giron at No. 4 and Sydney Power fell, 6-2, 6-3, to Breana Stampfli at No. 2.
 
The loss dropped NKU to 5-10 overall and 0-3 in A-Sun play.
 
NKU now returns home for a pair of conference matches at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex leading into Easter weekend. Action begins on Thursday against Kennesaw State, starting at 2 p.m. The Norse will then host USC Upstate on Saturday for a 10 a.m. start.
