Cameron’s Senior Day heroics lead Norse past Milwaukee

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's tennis put a bow on the 2026 regular season on Friday night, taking on Milwaukee. Prior to the match, the Norse honored senior Alyssa Cameron, as well as men's tennis student-athletes Emilio Bravo and Jackson Poulos. Cameron not only sealed the doubles point on a 12-10 tiebreak, but then went on to win the final singles match of the evening to lift the Norse over Milwaukee, 4-3.

In doubles play, Catharina Cardoso & Darya Gneidina fell 6-0 in second doubles, while Haley Slay and Cassia Adamowsky picked up a third doubles win to tie things up. Cameron and Zakic took their opponents down to the wire, eeking out a 7-6 (12-10) win on the tiebreak.

In singles play, Milwaukee quickly took the lead with two-set victories in both the #5 and #2 slots. Haley Slay tied it up at two with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, while Catharina Cardoso's 6-3, 6-2 win in sixth singles put NKU up 3-2. Both Sydney Zakic and Alyssa Cameron went three sets, with Zakic falling first to put it at three-all, but Cameron slammed the door with a 6-2 win in set three to secure a Norse Horizon League victory for the first time in 2026.
