INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced its 2026 women's tennis award winners and All-League teams on Thursday, with Norse freshman
Sydney Zakic picking up All-League Second Team honors.
"It's wonderful to see Sydney recognized as an All-League," said Norse head coach
Brian Nester. "She improved all year long."
Zakic finished the spring with four singles wins in her first season with the Norse, with all of her matches played in the top three singles slots. Zakic finished 2-2 in second singles, including a pair of Horizon League victories over IU Indy and Oakland. In doubles play, she finished 4-9 overall, earning three wins with partner
Alyssa Cameron, and one with
Catharina Cardoso. In NKU's season finale with Milwaukee, Zakic and Cameron earned the doubles point for the Norse with a tiebreak victory.
