MASON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's tennis took on Youngstown State in the quarterfinal round of the Horizon League Women's Tennis Championship on Friday afternoon, held at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The Norse fell 4-0 to the Penguins, resulting in an early exit for NKU.
Northern Kentucky dropped the doubles point as NKU's first doubles duo of
Sydney Zakic and
Alyssa Cameron fell 6-2, and its third pair of
Aaditi Bhat and
Catharina Cardoso lost 6-1.
In singles play,
Sydney Zakic dropped a match in first singles,
Alyssa Cameron fell in third singles, and
Haley Slay lost in fifth singles as the Penguins clinched a berth in the semifinal.
Cassia Adamowsky was the only Norse to win a set, winning 7-5 over her opponent in sixth singles.
