HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team will wrap up the 2015 regular season on Tuesday with a nonconference contest at Wright State. First serve from Dayton Center Courts is set for 1 p.m.
The Norse are looking to roll into this weekend's Atlantic Sun Conference championships with some momentum and improve on their 6-14 overall record.
Hailey Shanahan picked up NKU's only win in a 6-1 loss to Lipscomb on Saturday to close out conference play.
A WORD ABOUT WRIGHT STATE: The Raiders stand at 13-11 on the season after edging out a pair of 4-3 wins against Division II opponents Tiffin and Indianapolis last Monday. Vanessa Madrigal is Wright State's top-flight player, holding a record of 7-17 on the season. Two Raiders have posted 20-win seasons, Karoline Haller at 20-4 playing primarily at No. 4 and Linsey Verstrepen at 20-1 playing primarily at No. 6. In doubles play, Madrigal and Megan Brdicka stand as WSU's win leaders at 8-6 on the year.
UP NEXT: NKU enters the postseason as the No. 5 seed in the A-Sun Championship and will take on the No. 4 seed Lipscomb in a rematch of Saturday's contest. The Championship will take place at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Florida, with the Norse taking the courts at 11:30 a.m.
