DAYTON, Ohio –
Sydney Power picked up her team-leading eighth singles victory for the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team in a 6-1 loss to Wright State on Tuesday afternoon, closing out the 2015 regular season for the Norse.
Power defeated Tori Turner, 7-5, 6-1, in the No. 2 singles flight to net NKU's only point of the match as the Norse fell to 6-15 overall entering Friday's opening-round contest against Lipscomb in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, hosted at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Raiders (14-11) took the top two doubles matches to claim the opening point. Wins in the bottom three singles flights sealed the team event for Wright State.
NKU enters the weekend as the No. 5 seed in this weekend's Championship, NKU's first as a Division I tennis program. First serve against the Lady Bisons is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
