HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team continues Horizon League play on Friday when it travels to take on the defending League champion Youngstown State at Boardman Tennis Center at 6 p.m. The Norse will then travel to Cleveland State for a Saturday matchup at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion at 10 a.m.

NKU enters the match at 5-5 overall, having won its last two matches against Morehead State and Dayton. The Norse are 0-1 in League contests after falling to Wright State on Feb. 5, 6-1.
No. 1 singles player
Klara Skopac earned a League victory over WSU and picked up a big victory against Dayton's Marlys Bridgham, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 in NKU's last match. Skopac is now a team-best 10-4 in singles this season, including 6-3 this spring.
Sydney Power is a winner of four of her last five matches after competing primarily at No. 2 singles. She and partner
Sierra Nellessen have seen success at No. 3 doubles, having only dropped two games between their last two wins against MSU and Dayton.
As the defending Horizon League champions, Youngstown state has won 11-consecutive League matches entering the weekend and were tabbed the preseason favorite. Nehel Sahni has a team-best 13 wins this season and has been victorious in nine of her last 10 singles matches. The Penguins are 2-10 this season and have yet to begin League play.
Cleveland State will be playing just its third match at its new home court where the Vikings own a 1-0 record. The Vikings open League play against Wright State on Friday before hosting NKU. CSU is 4-7 on the season, having dropped their last two matches of a Florida road trip where they fell to Florida Tech and UCF.
Following the pair of weekend matches, the Norse return to action on Saturday, April 2 when they close out a seven-match road swing with contests at Valparaiso and UIC.
