HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky . – Klara Skopac earned a top-flight singles victory on Sunday, but the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team fell to Detroit, 4-1, at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.
Skopac took the opening set of her match, 6-4, and came away with a 3-0 win in the second by retirement against Anna Davydova.
The junior paired up with Rheanna Morehart for a 6-2 doubles win at the No. 2 flight to avoid a Detroit doubles sweep.
Danielle Donahue was amidst a three-set battle with Valeryia Kulikovskay at the No. 3 singles flight when the Titans clinched the victory, leaving Donahue's match abandoned.
NKU slips to 7-9 overall and 2-5 in Horizon League play. The Norse return to action on Wednesday, April 13 when they travel to Cincinnati for the final road match of the season. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
