LAST TIME OUT: The Norse are fresh off their first victory of the 2016 season, which they notched in shutout fashion against Morehead State on Monday. In the home opener, senior midfielder Katelyn Newton handed NKU a 1-0 lead with a 20th minute goal on a rebounded shot. That would be all the Norse needed as the NKU defense held the Eagles to a single shot on goal, which came on a penalty kick that goalkeeper Emily Lohmann saved with a dive to her left. NKU out-shot MSU, 15-6, overall and 6-1 in shots on goal.

SCOUTING THE ROCKETS: Toledo enters the weekend at 1-2-0. The Rockets' lone victory came against Wagner on Aug. 21, when they cruised to a 5-1 victory. In its last match, UT fell to Louisville, 4-0. Toledo is averaging 2.00 goals per game while opponents are averaging 2.33 per game. Redshirt freshman Kelsey Kraft leads the squad with five points already this season on two goals and one assist, trailed closely by senior Kiersten Johnson who has a pair of goals for four points. Sophomore Katie Wilson has seen every minute in goal and has 11 saves and .611 save percentage.

UT returns eight starters and welcomes eight newcomers this season. Last year, the Rockets went 9-12-0 overall and finished fourth in the Mid-American Conference West Division with a 5-6-0 record.

SERIES HISTORY: Friday's match will be the second-ever between the Norse and the Rockets after UT defeated NKU, 2-0, on Sept. 20 last season at NKU Soccer Stadium. Northern Kentucky goalkeeper Brooke Schocker posted a season-high nine saves and faced 23 shots against Toledo last year.

ON TARGET: Four Norse have recorded a shot on goal percentage of .800 or higher so far this season. Jessica Frey has fired a team-high 10 shots, eight of which have come on goal, for team-high marks in both categories. Sam Davis and Payton Naylor each have one shot, coming on target, while freshman Shawna Zaken has a perfect shot on goal percentage with two shots, both on goal. As a team, NKU owns a .475 shot on goal percentage while holding opponents to a .448 clip.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Due to anticipated unplayable field conditions at the XU Soccer Complex, NKU and Xavier have agreed to move their Tuesday, Sept. 6 match to the NKU campus to be played at NKU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff has also been moved to 7 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 6:30 start time. The match will now be broadcast live on ESPN3.
