HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team wraps up a four-match road swing on Wednesday when it takes on Fort Wayne at 7 p.m. at the Hefner Soccer Complex.

LAST TIME OUT: The Norse last competed on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they opened Horizon League play against defending League champion Oakland. Despite overcoming a 2-0 deficit within the final eight minutes of play, NKU fell to Oakland on a golden goal in double-overtime. Kobie Qualah found the back of the net on an Anders Mathiesen assist, followed by an own goal to tie the game and force overtime. Oakland's Alex Serwatka scored the game-winner in the 103rd minute.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS: Fort Wayne (3-3-0), formerly known as IPFW, just wrapped up a four-match road swing with a 2-2 record that included wins over Bradley and Green Bay. Four Mastadons have two or more goals. Senior Thilo Korperich has a team-best nine points and leads the Summit League with four goals. Each of the Mastodons' eight assists are distributed among eight different players.

Fort Wayne has scored 12 goals across six games, allowing just as many, for 2.00 goals per game. Time in goal has been split between Jorge Trujillo and Raphael Kotzock. Trujillo has a team-high 398:36 minutes with 12 saves and a 2.48 goals-against average, while Kotzock has logged 150:13 minutes with a 0.60 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY: The all-time series between Fort Wayne and NKU dates back to Sept. 6, 1986 when the Norse won, 3-2, in double-overtime. NKU leads the series, 15-2-4, after defeating the Mastodons, 2-1, in Fort Wayne last season. Diego Martinez helped NKU to the victory with four shots, two on goal, and an assist.

SPREADING THE OFFENSE AROUND: Six different Norse have at least one point this season, as NKU's three goals and three assists are spread among six players. Freshmen Anders Mathiesen and Bryce Day have each posted an assist while the sophomore duo of Nick Perez (assist) and Calvin Murphy (goal) have also recorded points for NKU.

Kobie Qualah has one goal and has taken three shots this season, all on target, while Campbell Morris scored the first goal of the season to help NKU to a 1-1 draw against Eastern Illinois.

UP NEXT: NKU returns home on Saturday, Sept. 17 for its Horizon League home opener against Milwaukee. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN3. The match is the first home contest for the Norse since Aug. 28.
