LAST TIME OUT: The Norse are coming off a 2-0 loss to Fort Wayne on Wednesday where Kobie Qualah posted a career-high five shots, three on goal, and freshman goalkeeper Jared Leyland posted a season-high five saves. Despite the loss, both efforts matched season highs for any Norse player.

SCOUTING MILWAUKEE: The Panthers currently sit in eighth place in the Horizon League after dropping their League opener to UIC, 1-0, last weekend. The squad is coming off a 3-3 draw against Marquette on Wednesday that ended a string of three-straight losses. Milwaukee averages 1.60 goals per game, distributing eight goals across its five games this season. Despite being out-scored 10-8, the Panthers average 14.6 shots per game while opponents average 12.6 shots. Three players are tied with two goals apiece. Forward Francesco Saporito is fourth in the HL in total points with five via one goal and a League-best three assists. Oliver Haslund and Sam Glass have competed for time in goal. Haslund holds a slight edge in minutes played with 270:00 to go with a 2.00 goals-against average, nine saves and a .600 save percentage.

Milwaukee was picked to finish sixth in the Horizon League preseason poll and is coming off a 5-10-3 campaign in 2015 that included a 2-5-2 League record for an eighth-place finish in the HL.

SERIES HISTORY: The all-time series between NKU and Milwaukee dates back to Aug. 26, 2012, when Milwaukee defeated the Norse, 2-1, in NKU's first season of Division I play. The Panthers lead the series 2-0 with the only other meeting coming last year when Milwaukee claimed a 4-0 victory over NKU in the regular-season finale.

SHOT LEADERS: Across the last three games, Qualah, a junior forward, has fired eight total shots. Six of his shots have been on goal for a .750 shot on goal percentage. He has helped the Norse post a strong .488 shot on goal percentage as a team this season. The Norse have launched 41 total shots, 20 on goal. Qualah and Tucker Monheimer, a freshman, combine for more than half of the squad's shots on goal as Monheimer has contributed five as part of nine total shot attempts.

YOUNG ROSTERS: This year's Panther roster consists of 11 freshmen and 10 sophomores to make up 21 of Milwaukee's 26 total players. Milwaukee has no seniors on its squad this year, while NKU has one, Alwin Komolong, who has missed playing time due to injury. The Norse have 12 freshmen and nine sophomores on their 2016 roster including Wlademir Babaew who has started all six games, logging the third-most minutes on the team with 516. Fellow freshmen Monheimer, Leyland, Anders Mathiesen, Joey Sabato and Eirik Abney have each earned at least one starting nod as well.

UP NEXT: The Norse travel to Huntington, West Virginia, to take on Marshall on Wednesday, Sept. 21, before returning home for a pair of matches. Kickoff against the Thundering Herd is set for 7 p.m.
