CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's tennis had a dominant victory over cross-county foe Thomas More on Friday evening. The Norse blanked the Saints, 7-0, to move to 4-2 on the season.
Match Notables
- NKU gave up just five games out of 12 sets in singles play and three games in the three doubles matches.
- Freshmen Andrew Niehaus and Chris Murray blanked their opponents in straight sets, with Niehaus picking up the win over Derrick Kwok in No. 2 singles while Murray took down Mike Schwarz in the No. 6 spot.
- Court Clark played in the No. 1 spot for the first time this season, winning over Cameron Shi, 6-0, 6-1.
- Adrian Isache provided the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-2 win versus Sheldon Preisler in No. 3 singles.
- Blaine Carr and Nick Lang rounded out the singles lineup. Carr took down Wesley Smith in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Lang won over Chris Gil in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
- All three doubles pairings won over their opponents. Isache and Carr teamed up in the top slot for a 6-2 win, Lang and Niehaus earned a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles, and Murray and Clark blanked their No. 3 doubles opposition.
- The men's team will take nearly a month of break before the next competitor, hosting Eastern Kentucky on March 21.
