HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis returns to the Bluegrass State after a successful East Coast outing to take on Atlantic Coast Conference foe Louisville on Friday, March 17. First serve against the Cardinals is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET from Bass Rudd Tennis Center on the Louisville campus.
LAST TIME OUT: The Norse secured two solid victories against Fairfield and Hostra on March 9-10. NKU's top four singles players went undefeated, as
Margita Sunjic,
Klara Skopac,
Katja Dijanezevic and
Danielle Donahue did not drop a set to their opponents. Sunjic was dominant in the No. 1 slot for the Norse, taking down Fairfield's Sarah Stuhlmann in a 6-3, 6-2 victory before dismantling Hofstra's D'Asha Davis in matching 6-1 sets. NKU also saw success in doubles competition, earning the opening point in both matches. Skopac was the constant in the top doubles slot, pairing up with Sunjic for a 6-4 win over Fairfield's top doubles team before teaming up with Donahue to take down Hofstra's pair, 6-2.
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE: The Cardinals enter Friday sporting a 10-4 record and have already opened up ACC play with a 6-1 win over Pittsburgh before losses to Clemson and No. 11 Georgia Tech, the latter of which blanked Louisville, 7-0, on March 12. Louisville's most consistent performers have been Mariana Humberg and Abbie Pahz in the No. 1 doubles spot, who have compiled an 8-2 record for the Cardinals.
