Northern Kentucky University men's soccer student-athlete
Alex Willis was named to the College Soccer News All-Freshman First Team, as announced by the publication this afternoon.
"It's been a great week for Alex individually with the recognition that he has received for an incredible freshman year," said NKU head coach
Stu Riddle. "We're all excited to get back to work and continue to elevate Alex, his supporting cast and our program even further beginning this spring."
Earlier this week, Willis was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Best XI First Team. He also finished the season ranked as the 11
th-best freshman in the NCAA by Top Drawer Soccer. Willis scored 16 goals and recorded seven assists for 39 points. He ranked fourth in the NCAA in goals scored and fifth in total points. He led all freshmen in the nation in both categories. Willis was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team and the All-Horizon League First Team, and he earned the Horizon League Freshman of the Year award. Â
