LAST TIME OUT
The Norse fell to Cincinnati in the Riverboat Rivalry on Sunday evening in overtime by a final score of 1-0.
Emily Lohmann faced 18 shots in the match and made six saves. The Norse had some good scoring chances in the match, with three of their six shots coming on frame.
NKU also played Xavier last week, defeating the Musketeers 1-0 on Thursday, Aug. 23.
Payton Naylor scored the game-winning goal with 15 seconds left to lift the Norse to victory.
HORIZON LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lohmann was named the Nike® Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Aug. 27. She recorded a shutout for the Norse in the 1-0 win over Xavier on Thursday evening. Lohmann faced 12 shots on the night and made five saves in the contest. She also had another good showing in a 1-0 overtime loss to Cincinnati on Sunday evening. Lohmann faced 18 shots and made six saves. She has two shutouts on the year with a 0.73 goals against average. Lohmann also has a 0.850 save percentage.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
NKU is 2-2 on the season with both wins coming at NKU Soccer Stadium. Both losses for the Norse were in overtime on the road to quality opponents, Murray State and Cincinnati. Lohmann has recorded two shutouts on the year, which is tied for 21
st nationally. Five different players have scored for the Norse, as Naylor,

Shawna Zaken,
Chloe Mills, and
Samantha Duwel have all made it on to the scoresheet. Naylor leads the team with three points.

The Norse return 17 players from last year's team and welcome six newcomers to the squad.

HEAD COACH BOB SHEEHAN
Bob Sheehan is in his 22
nd season at the helm of the NKU women's soccer team. He sports a 308-102-28 (.735) all-time record. Sheehan won his 300
th career match last season against Appalachian State on Aug. 29, 2017. His teams are 18-5-4 in Horizon League play and have a 4-1-1 record in the Horizon League Tournament.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Ohio enters the contest at 1-2-1 overall. The Bobcats opened the season with a 2-1 loss at Pittsburgh on Aug. 17, before bouncing back with a 1-0 overtime win against Robert Morris. Ohio tied Lipscomb 0-0 on Aug. 24, and fell to Vanderbilt 2-1 on Aug. 26. Freshman Abby Townsend leads the team with two goals on the season. Junior Alivia Milesky has also scored this year. Erin Beurket and Sydney Malham have each started two games at goalkeeper this year. Beurket is 0-2 with a .733 save percentage, while Malham is 1-0-1 with two shutouts and a 1.000 save percentage.
