HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.- The Northern Kentucky University men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2018 season playing host to the Queen City Invitational on Saturday. The meet was the first held on Northern Kentucky's campus in 39 years. The Norse men's team took fifth (125 points) overall with the women's squad placing ninth (233 points). 
 
Men's Results

• Alec Sandusky was NKU's top finisher placing 12^th(10 points) with a 5K time of 15:45.70. 
• Kyle Mastin (22^nd, 19 points, 15:50.20) followed with Ryan Burrows (25^th, 22 points, 15:55.00), Zach Birdsall (33^rd, 28 points, 16:13.30), and Blake Rigdon (59^th, 46^th, 16:27.90) rounding out the Norse scoring.
• The 5K race featured 14 teams with a total of 178 runners on the course.  

Women's Results

• Hannah Tobler was the top-finisher for the Norse crossing the finish line in 27^th(26 points) with a time of 18:48.20.
• Jennah Flairty (37^th, 35 points, 19:10.20) followed with Sydnee Mangette (64^th, 52 points, 19:43.50), Kimmy Wolfe (80^th, 59 points, 20:14.60) and Savannah Brady (90^th, 61 points, 20:31.60) finishing out the NKU scoring.
• The 5K race featured 12 teams with 149 runners on the trail.
