Women's Cross Country Brad Pope, NKU Athletic Communications

@NKUNorseXCTF hits the road for the Cardinal Challenge

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.- The Northern Kentucky University men's and women's cross country teams will return to action Friday afternoon at the Cardinal Challenge hosted by Ball State. 
 
The meet
  • The meet will be held at the Muncie Elks Country Club in Muncie, Indiana.
  • The women's 6K will begin at 4:45 pm with the men's 8K to follow at 5:15.
  • The Norse will face competition from host Ball State, Butler and Miami (OH) among others.
Last time out
  • Northern Kentucky last competed at the Jenna Strong Invitational on October 11, hosted by Wilmington College.
  • The men took ninth overall with Kyle Mastin the top-runner posting a 13thplace finish of 25:48.90 on the 8K course.
  • The women's squad took fifth overall with Megan Cole the top-NKU scorer taking 10thin a time of 18:49.20 on the 5K trail. 
Up next for the Norse
  • Following the Cardinal Classic, the Norse will return home as they play host to the 2019 Horizon League Cross Country Championships on November 2.
