Rochester, Mich. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team earned an important three points in the Horizon League standings on Wednesday night when they took down Oakland, 2-0.
"We can't be any prouder of our group," said head coach Bob Sheehan. "Tonight was an important road win over a very good Oakland team. We've continued to work so hard all season and tonight we put together a strong 90-minute performance.
"Everyone was invested. Mimi was strong in goal, our back line didn't give any space, our midfield competed for everything and our front line was dangerous. Congratulations to Lindsey Meyer on scoring her first college goal; she made her first goal a memorable one with the game-winner in a huge Horizon League match. Congratulations also to Shelby Wall with a fantastic assist to Ally Perkins. Ally worked so hard all game and it was great to see her score that important second goal."
