HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team failed to find the net on Sunday night, falling to Ohio, 1-0, at NKU Soccer Stadium.
"I think we gave the ball away way too often," said head coach Bob Sheehan. I think that we knew that Ohio was going to try to run in behind us, we were prepared for that, but did not execute.
"We had to do a better job of connecting passes, a better job of showcasing our skillset and we did not do that today. It's a long season; this is game number two and hopefully we can look back on this take some teachable moments from the game and improve."
"We wanted to come out with the same intensity that we had in the Lipscomb game," said Norse goalkeeper Mimi Stines. "We just had trouble connecting passes out of the back and mentally we weren't there tonight. I think it was the little things and they all kind of built up and came back to bite us…I think the last six or seven minute to play where we wanted that comeback goal to tie the game; I think we could've played like that the whole 90 minutes."
