Horizon League schedule for @NKUNorseMBB released

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –  The 18-game Horizon League slate of contests for the Northern Kentucky men's basketball team has been released by the league office in Indianapolis.

NKU, which is the reigning two-time Horizon League Regular-Season Champion, opens league play on Saturday, Dec. 28 against Milwaukee and follows two days later with a matchup against Green Bay. Both games will be held at BB&T Arena.

Following the opening weekend, the Norse play seven of their next nine games on the road. First up is a trip to the Motor City for games against Detroit Mercy (Jan. 3) and Oakland (Jan. 5). Then, NKU makes the trek to Chicago for a Jan. 10 matchup against UIC before swinging through Indianapolis on Jan. 12 to face IUPUI.

Northern Kentucky hosts Youngstown State and Cleveland State Jan. 16 and 18, respectively, before heading north on I-75 for a Friday night showdown against Wright State (Jan. 24).

The stretch of seven road contests in a nine-game span comes to a close with a trip to the Badger State. Northern Kentucky and Green Bay are set to square off on Friday, Jan. 31. Milwaukee closes the road trip on Feb. 2.

NKU then begins a four-game home stand, beginning with Oakland on Feb. 6 before squaring off against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 8. IUPUI and UIC then come to BB&T Arena for a pair of contests on Feb. 14 and 16, respectively.

The final road swing of the regular season sees the Norse head to Cleveland State on Feb. 20 before making a 75-mile jaunt from Cleveland to Youngstown State on Feb. 22.

Northern Kentucky's regular season culminates with a return matchup against rival Wright State when the Norse host the Raiders at BB&T Arena on Feb. 28.

Upon the completion of the regular season, the Horizon League Championship begins at campus site on March 3. Teams seeded Nos. 3-6 host first-round matchups on that date, with the top-two remaining seeds hosting quarterfinals on March 5. The semifinals and championship will then be held at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis from March 9-10. Northern Kentucky has won two of the last three Horizon League Tournament Championships, earning the league's bid to the NCAA Tournament.
