RICHMOND, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team moved to 3-3-0 on the 2019 season after defeating Eastern Kentucky, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at the EKU Soccer Field.
Shawna Zaken, as part of a two-goal outing, raked in the game-winning tally to give the Norse the win.
"We knew that today's match was going to present challenges and we couldn't be any more proud of our group," said head coach

"We had a tremendous effort from players off the bench. In particular,
Ashleigh Cronin and
Lindsey Meyer both came off the bench and provided a spark to the team. Although it didn't show up on the box score,

Shawna Zaken demonstrated her finishing skills and it was great for
Ally Perkins to score again today.
Mimi Stines also had another strong performance in goal."
