@NKUNorseWSOC Travels to Robert Morris Saturday

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team looks to continue their perfect start of Horizon League play, traveling to Robert Morris this Saturday, Oct. 2. This conference match is slated for a 2 p.m. start as well.

Scoring Points
• NKU is 6-3-2 on the season, and 5-0-0 in its last five matches, after earning victories over both IUPUI and Cleveland State in Horizon League action.
• NKU is unbeaten in its last seven matches with a 5-0-2 record. Opponents have scored just twice in those games as the Norse have posted five total shutouts.
• NKU currently sits in a tie for first in the Horizon League with Milwaukee as both programs are currently 4-0-0, having totaled 12 points in conference play.
• NKU will face Robert Morris on the road this week, Saturday, Oct. 2 at 2:00 p.m. All-time the Norse are 3-2 against RMU and the last time these two squads met, NKU defeated the Colonials by a score of 1-0 (2OT).
• NKU's nonconference schedule was an intense grind. All but two of its nonconference opponents have a .500 record or better and are a combined 34-23-13 (.597) through Sept. 29.
• NKU was picked to finish second in the Horizon League Preseason Poll.
• The Norse won the 2020 Horizon League regular-season at 7-0-1 and went 8-1-2 overall.
• NKU reached the #HLWSOC Tournament championship match, tying Milwaukee 0-0 through 110 minutes of action before succumbing in penalty kicks.
• GK Mimi Stines was named this week's Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week after recording back-to-back shutouts against IUPUI and Cleveland State.
• D Lydia Self has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. Self earned her first honor Sept. 13 and on Sept. 20.
• NKU has now earned three consecutive Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
• F Lindsey Meyer was busy on the offensive side of the ball last week, totaling one goal and one assist. Meyer's goal came during overtime on the road against IUPUI to seal the Norse victory. Her assist led towards the game-winner vs. Cleveland State as well. She has now totaled two goals and two assists during the year.
• M Sofia Wilmes netted the goal for NKU against CSU at home which ultimately was the game winner for the Norse. This was Wilmes' third goal of the season.
• D Madelyn Koewler leads the team in total assists this year with three. Koewler recorded all her assists in back-to-back matches as well.
• Stines is the reigning #HLWSOC Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year after finishing third nationally in goals against (.264) and save percent (.929), plus 14th in shutouts (7).
• Stines earned recognition as a United Soccer Coaches All-Region honoree and, the standout on both the field and in the classroom, also collected United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America and Horizon League All-Academic accolades.
• NKU also returns its entire back line that was one of the nation's best defenses, D Chloe Mills, D Morgan Jewell, D Lily Menssen and D Taylor Abbott, plus regains the services of D Megan Sullivan.
